Brisbane centre Jack Reed has been cleared of a broken leg but will undergo further scans this weekend after being injured in Friday night’s 26-12 NRL loss to Cronulla.
Broncos medical staff feared Reed may have fractured his fibula late in the first half at Suncorp Stadium but x-rays have not detected bone damage.
Football operations manager Andrew Gee says results from further scans will be known on Monday.
English international Reed was pushed off by rival centre Ben Pomeroy for the Sharks’ third try for a 16-0 lead, which ultimately proved too much for the Broncos to reel in.
Brisbane, who had seven players unavailable due to Queensland State of Origin duty, have a bye next weekend.
