Broncos forward Parker to make comback

Brisbane forward Corey Parker will make an early comeback from injury against the Wests Tigers in Sydney on Friday night.

The goal-kicking lock was given medical clearance to return from a thumb injury two weeks earlier than expected and will make his comeback off the bench against the Tigers.

Parker had surgery to reattach a torn ligament from his thumb, an injury suffered against the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium in round two last month.

He was expected to miss up to six weeks, but was given the green light by his surgeon on Tuesday.

Parker trained with his thumb in a protective cast on Thursday morning before coach Anthony Griffin confirmed he would replace Scott Anderson on the bench for the Good Friday night NRL clash.
