The Brisbane Broncos are to announce they have extended coach Anthony Griffin’s contract with the NRL club.
Griffin, 46, was contracted until the end of next season but the six-time premiers have moved to head off any attempts to poach him by signing him to a new multi-year deal.
Appointed when Ivan Henjak was sacked, Griffin took the Broncos to the NRL finals in his first season at the helm last year and he currently has them in third position.
Club chairman Paul White is expected to make the contract extension announcement at 10am (AEST).
