Brisbane forward Josh McGuire is likely to finish his NRL career a one-club player after signing a four-year contract extension.
McGuire, who began his career with the club in 2009, will remain a Bronco at least until the end of the 2021 season when he will turn 31.
“It was a no-brainer for me,” he told the Nine Network.
“To stay part of this club and hopefully be a one-player-club (sic) for the rest of my life was an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
The local product this year made the unusual step of shifting from prop to lock to replace retired club great Corey Parker.
His re-signing on Thursday comes a day after the Broncos secured winger Corey Oates on a new one-year deal as the club moves to tie up its talent.
Around half of the club’s first-pick XIII is off contract at the end of the year including skipper Darius Boyd, Anthony Milford, Andrew McCullough and Adam Blair.
Queensland Origin representative Maguire, who made his Kangaroos debut last year, has played 151 NRL games.
