Brisbane and St George Illawarra will be desperate to break their respective losing streaks in a crucial Saturday night clash. The Broncos, at 5-5, have hit a rough patch, losing four of their last five games. Despite early leads in both their Magic Round loss to Penrith (32-8) and a 22-14 defeat to Souths, their spine has lacked cohesion, with Reece Walsh’s absence sorely felt. Payne Haas and Pat Carrigan have been consistent, but the Broncos will be hoping that Ezra Mam’s return from suspension provides the spark needed to turn things around.

The Dragons, also struggling with a 5-5 record, have dropped their last three matches. Despite a gutsy 15-14 loss to the Warriors, they are still searching for a reliable playmaker to lead the team, with too much pressure falling on Clint Gutherson.
