A sustained betting plunge on NSW has seen the Blues firm into outright favouritism at Centrebet for game 1 of the Origin Series tomorrow night.
“The Blues have been heavily backed in the last couple of days and are now clear favourites in Origin 1 due to weight of money,” Centrebet’s Michael Felgate said.
“We opened up Queensland favourites in game 1 at $1.87 and the Blues $1.97 outsiders but the punters have jumped on the Blues bandwagon and the odds have now flipped with NSW $1.87 favourites and QLD out to $1.97 outsiders.”
“The way the money is going, and NSW’s recent record at ANZ, I expect the Blues will start even shorter tomorrow night.”
NSW has also been backed to break the Maroons seven year series winning streak, firming from $2.15 into $2.05 but Queensland is still a clear favourite at $1.77 after opening at $1.70.
NSW Captain Paul Gallen has also been the subject of a betting plunge for the most run metres in the series firming from $7 into $3
