Wests Tigers players are pleading with the club’s fans to blame them, not coach Jason Taylor, for their 54-point NRL drubbing at the hands of Canberra.
Tigers fans started a petition to have Taylor sacked after the club’s humiliating sixth straight loss on Saturday, but stand-in captain Chris Lawrence said on Monday the fault fell squarely on the players.
“That performance had nothing do with him as coach,” Lawrence said. “That’s on us as players and we know that.”
