Barba outed for two NRL matches

Ben Barba will miss two NRL matches after taking the early guilty plea on two charges stemming from Cronulla’s round three NRL loss to Melbourne.

The struggling playmaker will miss the Sharks’ matches against Gold Coast and Sydney Roosters.

The former Dally M Medallist will be free to play again in the round six clash with Newcastle at Remondis Stadium.

Sydney Roosters prop Sam Moa is facing a one-match suspension after being cited following Monday night’s 20-12 NRL win over Penrith.

Moa has been charged with making dangerous contact to the head or neck of Penrith prop Brent Kite and carryover points from a previous offence mean he’ll be banned for the Roosters’ match against Canberra on Sunday unless he successfully contests the matter.

Fellow Roosters forward Boyd Cordner was also cited by the match review committee – for a dangerous throw on Tyrone Peachey – but he can escape suspension with an early guilty plea.
