A confident Ben Barba is well on the way to making the Cronulla fullback position his own after an impressive start to the NRL season, according to teammate Michael Ennis.

Barba faced stiff competition from Jack Bird and Valentine Holmes for the Sharks No.1 jersey this season, but has been preferred in the position by coach Shane Flaganan for the opening two rounds.

The former Dally M medallist was one of Cronulla’s best in their first-up loss to North Queensland and their round two hammering of St George Illawarra and Ennis believes Barba is happy and content playing at fullback again.
