Backline trio return for Warriors in NRL

Jerome Ropati, Konrad Hurrell and Shaun Johnson will make their NRL returns when the Warriors host high-flying Brisbane in Auckland on Saturday night.

Centre Ropati has recovered from a hamstring strain and will deputise at fullback for Kevin Locke, whose own comeback from a leg injury lasted just six minutes in the Anzac Day defeat to Melbourne before going off with a sternum problem.

Hurrell comes into the centres and his inclusion means Krisnan Inu, who made two crucial errors against the Storm, drops to an expanded five-man bench.

Johnson is back, as expected, at halfback after getting over a shoulder injury picked up in his New Zealand debut in the Test against Australia.

Apart from Locke, others not considered for selection included lock Micheal Luck, who continues to recover from a wrist injury that has delayed his start to the season, prop Sam Rapira (ankle) and fullback Glen Fisiiahi (groin).

Coach Brian McClennan says prop Jacob Lillyman, who has been out since getting an arm injury in a trial in February, is in contention to play but still needs to be cleared.

The Queensland Origin representative trained fully with the squad on Monday.
