Queensland will tackle NSW on Wednesday night with a feeling that Arthur Beetson is close by watching over them.

Brad Beetson will unveil a bronze statue of his famous father and fellow Queensland rugby league legends Wally Lewis and Darren Lockyer at Suncorp Stadium’s northern plaza on Tuesday.

The statues of Queensland’s three Origin icons will stand in a triangle on the northern concourse of Caxton Street which also features plaques and murals of players from the past.

It’s understood the life-size statue depicts Roma-born Beetson in a familiar pose using his big fend and preparing to slip one of his famous off-loads.
