It’s not a rematch of Super Bowl LIV but it will feel a bit like a reunion with may key figures from that game set to take to the field again.

Thanks to a litany of injuries, it’s tough to have a whole lot of faith in the 49ers here thanks to a beaten up defence that has been acting as a tone setter all season.

Some of the names to pop up on the injury report include safeties Jimmie Ward and Talanoa Hufanga, cornerbacks Jason Verrett and Charvarius Ward, plus defensive linemen Samson Ebukam and Drake Jackson.

Perhaps the lone bright spot is pass rusher Nick Bosa returning to practice as he is a difference maker and would help keep Patrick Mahomes in check.

After a disappointing defeat against Buffalo last week, Mahomes will be desperate to take advantage of a beaten up 49ers defensive unit and I’ll be backing Kansas City to roll here.
