Jarryd Hayne has overcome a horror start to help the San Francisco 49ers to a 7-0 first-half lead against the Minnesota Vikings.

With veteran running back Reggie Bush injuring his left leg in the first quarter, Hayne came in and has run the ball twice for four yards and caught a pass for seven yards in the first half.

Hayne fumbled his first punt, but showed steady hands to catch another at the 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Tuesday AEST.
