Just when it looked like the Bengals had found the perfect band-aid for their quarterback problem it got ripped off in spectacular fashion last week.
Not only did they suffer the humiliation of losing to the Jets, but Joe Flacco suffered a shoulder injury that has his status in doubt for this game.
It could not come at a worse time for the 3-5 Bengals who are fighting for their season and simply have to win this game.
But nothing they have shown this season suggests that the late rally is coming.
Even if Flacco is healthy enough to play and play well, this is a defence that just gave up 39 to a Jets offence that was getting heckled by their owner the week before.
