Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg took pole position for Sunday’s British Grand Prix, with world champion Sebastian Vettel second fastest for Red Bull.
It was a fourth pole position of the year for the German and the eighth of his career.
His main rival for this year’s world title, team-mate Lewis Hamilton, could only manage sixth fastest time in a rain-hit session on Saturday.
Australian Daniel Ricciardo will start from eighth on the grid in his Red Bull.
