Daniel Ricciardo will start the season-opening Australian Formula One Grand Prix from eighth spot on the grid in Melbourne.
Ricciardo made it to the final round of the revamped qualifying system, which made its debut at the Albert Park circuit on Saturday, before being knocked out.
He out-qualified Red Bull Racing teammate Daniil Kvyat, who will start from 18th after being eliminated in the first session.
