Daniel Ricciardo has finished in the world championship points for the sixth time in his first full season in Formula One, taking 10th place in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The Perth driver finished ahead of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher of Mercedes and, more importantly, his own Toro Rosso teammate, Jean-Eric Vergne.

The 23-year-old Ricciardo, already retained by Red Bull-owned Italian team for next year, has been in the points in five of the past seven races.
