Holden’s David Reynolds has claimed pole position for the Supercars season finale at Newcastle.
He clocked 1min 10:54sec in the top 10 shootout to finish ahead of series leader Scott McLaughlin and his title threat Shane van Gisbergen for Sunday’s final 95-lap race that will decide the 2018 champion.
Ford driver McLaughlin’s series lead over van Gisbergen was extended from two points to 53 on Sunday morning after the Holden ace was stripped of his dramatic Saturday win by stewards for a pit-lane breach and relegated to fifth.
