Red Bull designer rejects Ferrari F1 move

Red Bull’s top designer Adrian Newey pledged his future to the team on Thursday and ruled out moving to Formula One rivals Ferrari.

Newey, chief technical officer for the team, told British journalists ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday that he was “committed to Red Bull for the foreseeable future”.

Ferrari have not won a race since the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix and had reportedly been willing to offer 55-year-old Newey a massive deal to jump ship.

Newey has played a crucial role in making Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel world champions for the past four years.

Vettel has described him as “a key person in the team”.
