McLaughlin lap record claims Bathurst pole

Supercars series leader Scott McLaughlin has broken his own Mount Panorama lap record to claim pole position for Sunday’s Bathurst 1000.

Ford gun McLaughlin clocked two minutes, 03.83 seconds – eclipsing his mark set in Friday’s practice by 0.31 of a second in Saturday’s top-10 shootout.

He finished ahead of Holden David Reynolds (2:04.27) and Ford’s 2014 Bathurst champion Mark Winterbottom (2:04.49).
