Series leader Scott McLaughlin has claimed provisional pole for the Supercars season’s final race at Newcastle.

Ford’s McLaughlin clocked one minute, 10:30 seconds on the tough 2.6km street circuit to be fastest from title rival Shane van Gisbergen and fellow Holden driver David Reynolds.

The top 10 shootout that will determine the final grid for the race that will decide the 2018 champion starts at 1250 AEDT.
