Lowndes repeats qualifying form

Craig Lowndes has given himself the best possible chance at V8 Supercars win number 100, qualifying on pole at Symmons Plains.

Lowndes has already earned two race wins from pole positions at the Tasmanian meet of the Supercars tour.

He’ll share the front row of the grid with Ford man David Reynolds, who jumped up the field to second.

Lowndes’ Red Bull Racing teammate will start the 200km race in third, alongside the Mercedes of Will Davison.

In an extremely tight qualifying session, seven drivers took turns at posting the fastest time before Lowndes took over.

All but one driver was separated by just 0.6 of a second in qualifying for the race.
