Six-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton says it is “shocking” that the season-opening Australian Grand Prix is being held amid coronavirus fears.
Hamilton didn’t hold back when asked if he thought the race should go ahead after it emerged on Thursday that eight Formula One team staff had been quarantined and tested for coronavirus, sparking fresh uncertainty about staging the Albert Park event.
“I am really very surprised that we are here. For me it is shocking that we are all sitting in this room (press conference),” he said.
