Lewis Hamilton produced a stunning qualifying lap to edge out Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg on Saturday and take pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix.

This was Hamilton’s fourth pole of the year as he aims for his fourth win from the opening five races.

Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo posted the third quickest time followed by Williams driver Valteri Bottas.

Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel will start back in the fifth row after his Red Bull packed up at the beginning of the third and final qualifying session.
