Major League Baseball’s disciplinary officials slapped Guillermo Mota with a 100-game ban Monday after the San Francisco Giants player tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Mota, who was suspended for 50 games in 2006, becoming just the third American professional baseball player to be suspended two times for a failed drug test.

The former New York Met Mota tested positive for clenbuterol, which is on the International Olympic Committee’s list of banned substances.

“The Giants are disappointed to learn of Guillermo Mota’s suspension,” the Giants said in a statement.

“We support Major League Baseball’s drug prevention and treatment program.”

Cyclist Alberto Contador of Spain was suspended for two years after testing positive for clenbuterol at the 2010 Tour de France.

American swimmer Jessica Hardy tested positive for the drug in 2008 and was given a one-year ban.

Former Mets batboy Kirk Radomski admitted in 2007 to giving clenbuterol, and other performance-enhancing drugs, to current and ex-baseball players and was sentenced to five years probation.

Mota, a 14-year veteran, has an 0-1 record with a 5.06 earned run average for the Giants this season.

The other players suspended twice for a failed drug test are outfielder Manny Ramirez and catcher Eliezer Alfonzo.

A third suspension would result in a lifetime ban.
