The Melbourne Grand Prix is celebrating its 25th anniversary at Albert Park this weekend in what is shaping up to be another exciting start to the Formula One season. We take a look at Sunday’s (10/4/2022) F1 Australian Grand Prix 2022.

We’ve seen plenty from Mercedes so far to suggest the silver and green colours are a step behind their rivals in Ferrari and Red Bull.
The new chicanes and extra DRS zones should add some extra spice to what has been a predictable Albert Park circuit over the years, but this still feels like a two-car race between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.
The former commands enormous respect as the defending world champion, but Red Bull did have some issues with down force in Saudi Arabia, and a repeat might leave them vulnerable.
Ferrari, meanwhile, looks much better suited to racing in Melbourne.
The slow corners at Albert Park call for grip and traction, one of Ferrari’s greatest improvements compared to last season.
If the race goes to plan this should be a fun battle right through to the finish, but with more overtaking opportunities, I’m happy to give the edge to Leclerc in what would be Ferrari’s 10th victory in Australia.
