American Ben Spies was diagnosed with a dislocated left collarbone after a spill during Saturday’s practice rounds at the Indianapolis MotoGP.
Spies was returning to action this weekend for the first time since the Italian GP in late May due to recurring pain and weakness in his right shoulder and chest.
Last October, he underwent reconstructive surgery after a crash at the Malaysian GP.
“Just when I was back and starting to feel good, now we have another shoulder injury,” said Spies.
“I was going out on the first lap when I made a mistake and spun the rear tyre and high-sided.
“We were starting to feel good, but now we’re back to square one,” Spies said.
