Davison, De Pasquale join DJR in Supercars

Supercars veteran Will Davison and rising star Anton De Pasquale will lead Dick Johnson Racing’s post-Scott McLaughlin era.

Shell V-Power will head into 2021 with a dramatically different set-up after the departure of three-time champion McLaughlin to IndyCar, Fabian Coulthard’s exit and Penske withdrawing from Supercars.

DJR on Friday confirmed the all-new line-up after De Pasquale quit Erebus Motorsport a day earlier.

Davison, 38, has been without a fulltime drive since the middle of this year when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the withdrawal of chief sponsor Milwaukee Tools from his Tickford Racing entry.

But he finished second at the Bathurst 1000 co-driving with Cameron Waters.

“I’ve always maintained close relationships with Dick and (DJR managing director) Ryan (Story) over the years,” Davison said.

“I’m massively motivated to be back where my Supercars career started, and I’m looking forward to working closely with Anton.”

De Pasquale, 25, joined Erebus as a rookie in 2018 and claimed one race win and six podiums in his three seasons with the Melbourne-based team.

“I’m ready to take the next step in my career. I’m excited at the possibilities of what I’ll be able to achieve at the Shell V-Power Racing team and with Will as my teammate,” he said.
