Rising star David Reynolds has impressed in his first hitout since swapping to Ford from Holden, setting the fastest time in the first practice session of the V8 Supercar season on Friday.
Reynolds sizzled around the Adelaide street circuit in his Bottle-O Racing Falcon with a quickest lap of 1min 23.006sec to edge out Holden driver Jonathon Webb.
The 26-year-old quit Kelly Racing in the off-season to join Ford.
Most of the V8 big guns, including defending champion Jamie Whincup, will hit the track in the third of four practice sessions for the Clipsal 500 on Friday.
With clouds hovering and rain expected, qualifying and the top 10 shootout are scheduled for later in the day ahead of 250km races on Saturday and Sunday.
