Yankee Rose positive test from Flight Stakes

A swab taken from dual Group One-winning filly Yankee Rose after her second in the Flight Stakes has shown the presence of a non steroidal anti-inflammatory Ketorolac.

Trainer David Vandyke, who will face a Racing NSW stewards inquiry on Friday, said the substance was given to the filly by a licensed veterinarian.

“Stewards have advised me that a swab sample taken from Yankee Rose following her second in the Flight Stakes has come back positive to Ketorolac,” Vandyke said in a statement on Monday.

“This medication was prescribed and administered by a licensed veterinarian who treated Yankee Rose.”

A $10,000 yearling, Yankee Rose won the Group One ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes last autumn and the Spring Champion Stakes in October before her third behind Winx and Hartnell in the Cox Plate.
