Yankee Rose has opened at $1.65 to win the 2016 VRC Oaks on the back of her third in the Cox Plate.
A field of 15 was declared on Monday for the Thursday’s fillies’ Classic (2500m) with the David Vandyke-trained dual Group One winner to start from barrier 13.
The Kris Lees-trained Samantha Miss, third in the 2008 Cox Plate, went on to win the Oaks as the $1.90 favourite.
