Winx’s veteran stablemate Who Shot Thebarman has won the Sydney Cup at his fifth attempt.
The nine-year-old, who fell in last year’s edition, fought the race out with New Zealand stayer Zacada and won by the barest possible margin.
The victory gave trainer Chris Waller Group One wins in successive races after Winx’s history-making victory in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
