Craig Williams has lodged an appeal against the severity of a careless riding suspension which will keep him from riding Sydney Cup favourite Big Duke.
Williams was outed at Sandown on Monday with the $2 million Sydney Cup to be re-run on Saturday after being declared a no-race on April 8.
The Darren Weir-trained Big Duke is at $3.50 for the Group One staying feature at Randwick.
