Punters have backed Labor to win between 45 to 49 seats at next Saturday’s Victorian state election.

Labor winning 50-54 seats remains the $2.30 favourite option at Sportingbet.com.au but punters have backed 45-49 seats from $3 into $2.60 second favouritism.
“Some of our smart political punters have honed in on that 45-49 bracket,” said Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown.
Labor remains a clear-cut favourite to win the election but its odds have eased a little this week, drifting from $1.10 to $1.20 at Sportingbet while the Coalition has firmed from $5.50 to $4.50.
“The money is still coming in five to one in favour of Labor but there has been a couple of nibbles for the Coalition to produce and upset.”
The Coalition has been well backed to win the south-east electorate of Mordialloc despite polls reporting a significant swing towards Labor. Punters have backed the Liberal’s odds of holding the seat from $2.75 into $2.30 at Sportingbet in recent days, while Labor has eased from $1.30 to $1.55.
