News:

Wet-track specialist Destiny’s Kiss is an early favourite to add the Rowley Mile to his collection of feature-race wins.

A winner of the Stayers Cup over 3200m two starts ago, Destiny’s Kiss ($3.60) heads first TAB markets on the Hawkesbury Listed race from Victorian galloper Mr Chard ($4.60).

Hawkesbury was rated in the heavy range during a Tuesday afternoon track inspection.

It’s the type of ground Destiny’s Kiss has excelled in with five wins from nine starts.

Trainer Chris Waller has accepted with four horses, including Coup Ay Tee who won the Hawkesbury Gold Cup over the Rowley Mile distance at the corresponding meeting last year.

Coup Ay Tee won the Cup on a five-day back up and Waller will ask the same of six-year-old on Thursday despite a worse-than-midfield run at Rosehill on Saturday.

Waller has also accepted with the stayer Brigantin, in-form I’m Imposing as well as Tougher Than Ever.

A field of 12 stood up at acceptance time with Destiny’s Kiss sharing 59kg topweight with the Gai Waterhouse-trained Travolta.

The race is also expected to mark the return of La Amistad, a close relation to three-time Melbourne Cup winbner Makybe Diva.

La Amistad went for a spell after wins at Echuca, Warwick Farm and Randwick and is a $7.50 chance with TAB to extend that sequence.
