Tommy Berry to ride in Hong Kong Cup 2015

Sydney jockey Tommy Berry has picked up a ride in the Hong Kong Vase aboard Harbour Master, a late addition to the field.

The John Moore-trained gelding has gained a start following the withdrawal of German filly Lovelyn because of a soft tissue injury.

Berry will now ride in all four International Group One races on Sunday’s program.

He will be aboard the Moore-trained Dan Excel in the Cup and stablemate Secret Sham in the Mile and rides Rich Tapestry for Michael Chang in the Sprint.

Dual Group One winner Preferment represents Australia in the Vase (2400m) with Hugh Bowman to ride while Criterion (Craig Williams) and Lucia Valentina (Damien Oliver) will fly the Australian flag in the Cup.

Bowman will represent Australia in the International Jockeys’ Championships at Happy Valley on Wednesday night while Sydney premiership leader James McDonald rides for his native New Zealand.
