Like Samaready did in this race two years ago, Rich Enuff will be hoping to make a winning return to racing from an extended break when he contests Theshark.com.au Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday. Despite having been away from the track for a year, punters made Samaready, the favourite when she was successful and they have been keen to show their support for Rich Enuff as well, who has opened the $2.30 favourite. The two mares in the race, Bounding and Miss Promiscuity, are both well in contention at $5.00 and $7.50 respectively with Under The Louvre at $6.50. Whoever is successful in this race on Saturday, they are worth following into the future with the last four winners of this race having gone on to win or place at Group 1 level later in their respective seasons.

1. RICH ENUFF – D Dunn (1)
Makes his long awaited return to racing and it should be a positive one judging by his two recent barrier trials. The leading three year from last season won each with plenty in hand and from the inside draw, will likely take up the running and prove hard to run down.
2. RICHIE’S VIBE – C Newitt (8)
Returned from a spell with a pleasing third (1.6 lengths) behind Red Eclipse in the G3 Spring Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville, his first start in five months. Second up last prep he came to Caulfield for the Rubiton Stakes (1100m) and ran fifth (3 lengths) behind what would later prove to be a very hot field with winner Chatauqua and second placed Flamberge, both going on to record Group 1 victories.
Special Offer 2: $500 BONUS BET – Ladbrokes
3. THERMAL CURRENT – B Melham (2)
The lightly raced 5yo really started to put it together last campaign, winning the G3 McKay Stakes in Adelaide before running a fantastic fifth (1.9 lengths) in the Group 1 Goodwood Handicap behind stable-mate Flamberge. Resumed last campaign with an excellent fifth (1.6 lengths) at this course in the G2 Caulfield Stakes (1100m) and from an inside gate that has him mapping well, well capable of repeating the effort.
4. UNDER THE LOURVE – G Boss (6)
The 5yo stallion put together a stellar campaign last time in, kicking off with a second (0.8 length) in the G1 Oakleigh Plate before luckless runs in both the Listed Anniversary Stakes and Goodwood Handicap, saw him run second and third respectively. Only has to come back in a similar vein of form as to that that he went out, and he’ll be right in the thick of it here.
5. BULL POINT – B Shinn (4)
After time with Gai Waterhouse and Chris Waller, this talented by sometimes frustrating stallion, now resides with Tony McEvoy and will step out for the first time for his new trainer Saturday. Previous fresh runs read well for this and some of his best efforts have come here at Caulfield, where he once started the short-priced favourite for the G1 Futurity Stakes. Gets a nice run behind what should be a genuine tempo and should be left with no excuses.
6. THE BOWLER – M Zahra (3)
Won five of the last seven races he contested when last in work, which culminated in a much deserved G3 win – the R A Lee Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville. Tackles this race first up off a fifteen weeks spell but meets some slick sprinters here and with his better form coming over ground longer than this, he’ll found this too tough.
Special Offer 3: $300 BONUS BET – Luxbet
7. BOUNDING – K McEvoy (7)
Chased home Chautauqua first up last campaign in the G2 Gilgai Stakes and two starts later, found another straight course specialist in Vain Queen too good in the G H Mumm Stakes (1100m), finishing second again. It has taken some very good sprinters to keep this former New Zealand mare from winning a race in Austration but with three seconds from only four starts this side of the Tasman – all in quality races, would imagine she won’t have to wait much longer. Too good trials in the past month will have her ready to fire first up.
8. MISS PROMISCUITY – D Lane (5)
Ridden a treat by Dwayne Dunn from a wide gate to score an impressive victory in the G3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) back in July. The Magnus mare, who has won five of her fourteen starts, has impressive stats around the Caulfield 1100m and although this would be clearly her toughest test to date, she’ll get her chance to measure up from gate five.
RACE OVERVIEW –
Rich Enuff take up the running here with Miss Promiscuity keeping him honest. If he’s back near his best, think Rich Enuff will make the $2.30 look a price. Bounding is the danger. As mentioned about it has taken some smart ones to keep her from winning in Australia and if there’s a chink in Rich Enuff’s armour first up, she’ll find it. Under The Louvre will rattle home and wouldn’t put a line through Bull Point. He’ll get the perfect run just off the pace and although he has burned a hole in punter’s pockets in the past, he has been competitive in some top races.
