News:
Flying Artie is pressing his stablemate Extreme Choice for Blue Diamond Stakes favouritism with the news Damien Oliver will ride him in the $1.5 million race.
The Mick Price-trainer Flying Artie firmed from $11 to $5.50 second choice for the Blue Diamond after his win in Saturday’s Prelude at Caulfield.
After Oliver, who has ridden both colts to their recent wins, announced on Sunday he would ride Flying Artie, the colt tightened further to $3.80.
Craig Newitt will be aboard $2.70 favourite Extreme Choice in the Group One race for two-year-olds on Saturday week.
Price and Newitt combined to win the 2012 Blue Diamond with Samaready.
