Punters have slashed Prince Cheri’s odds of winning The Metropolitan from $17 into $5.50 at Sportingbet following a large volume of significant bets on Tuesday.

The David Vandyke trained five-year-old rocketed into favouritism at Sportingbet.com.au ahead of Moriarty at $6.50 for the Group 1 race at Randwick on October 5.

“We took a $5,000 bet and a number of other bets totalling $3,000 in the space of an hour,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said.
“Prince Cheri is now our worst way in the race by a long way,” Brown said.
Prince Cheri also firmed from $23 into $21 at Sportingbet for the Caulfield Cup.
