The Quokka 2025 set to be live and free on Racing.com

Racing WA has confirmed a new broadcast agreement with Racing.com to deliver live coverage of the 2025 $5 million Kia Quokka (1200m) at Ascot Racecourse.

Set to be run on Saturday, 26 April 2025, Western Australia’s richest race will be accessible across all Racing.com platforms. This includes free-to-air Channels 68 and 78, Foxtel Channel 529, the Racing.com website and app, along with streaming services 7plus and Kayo.

This significant broadcast deal is part of Racing WA’s ongoing strategy to expand the reach of WA racing, building on last year’s initiative with the Seven Network to stream all WA thoroughbred meetings via 7plus and Racing WA TV.

Racing WA Chief Racing Officer David Hunter highlighted the importance of the partnership in strengthening The Quokka’s national appeal.

“The Quokka has quickly become a highlight on the national racing calendar and we’re thrilled to partner with Racing.com to showcase it to a broader audience,” he said.

“We’re also excited to showcase the running of this year’s Group 2 Karrakatta, our premier race for two years olds, earlier in the program ahead of The Quokka.

“Racing.com’s high-quality coverage and strong footprint will provide an ideal platform to promote WA racing – we’re confident this broadcast will captivate race fans across the country.”

Racing.com, owned by Racing Victoria, is widely recognised as a premier destination for thoroughbred racing coverage in Australia.

Racing Victoria’s Executive General Manager of Media, Content and Marketing, Andy Hoad, expressed enthusiasm about adding The Quokka to their lineup.

“We’re excited to showcase The Quokka meeting on Racing.com. It’s a race that has built great interest nationally in its short history,” he said.

“Punters in the east love WA racing, particularly on a Saturday night after Melbourne’s finished, so we expect great interest.

“It’s been a real pleasure working with the team at Racing WA and we look forwarding to building on this partnership into the future.”
