Tattersall’s Tiara 2013 day Horse Racing Tips – Eagle Farm racecourse

Eagle Farm will host the premier race meeting in Queensland and Australia this Saturday on Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara day. This years edition of the race has attracted some very good horses and the days racing looks to be fantastic for punters.

The current track condition is a dead 5 and looking at the forecast over the coming days it is likely we will be running on a similar condition to what it is now.

Race One: Carlton Mid Hcp (c6) 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Vintage Moss is second up on Saturday and has a 2kg claim from apprentice Kirk Matheson. A proven second up record along with 3 wins from 6 attemps at this course/distance should see him salute.
Don’t Back Me: Bribie ran on strong last time out after settling in the back of the field. On saturday expect him to be running on again but will fall short again Only winning once over this distance, don’t expect that record to change.
Big Danger: Alcancia has finished withing 1L of the winner in her last 3 starts. Likes a rain affected track but should be fit enough now to go close in this.
Roughie:Spatha retains jockey Michael Cahill who was unlucky last start being held up at Tawoomba over the same trip. A 5kg turn around in weights works in his favour and could cause an upset.

Race Two: A.m. Giles Accountants (bm85) 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Venture On hasn’t had much luck in his last 3 starts. Unbeaten at this distance and with a good run from barrier 2 he will be presented at the right time to win this.
Don’t Back Me: Amestis didn’t get much luck last time out but from barrier 14 on Saturday it may be the same case again. She has won twice at the distance, but will be wide throughout. Any additional rain will lessen her chances.
Big Danger: Viking Heart over races and didn’t handle the heavy conditions last time out at Eagle Farm. Back on top of the ground on Saturday and 1400m appears to be the right distance for him to win.
Roughie: Dalzer was outlassed in the Bribie Handicap last time out. With 2kg claiming apprentice Priscilla Schmidt back on board, he will be running on late from the rear.

Race Three: Hardy Brothers Jewellers Hcp 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: General Exhibit has been running in much higher class than this but pays the price with a top weight of 59kg. Has a nice draw and if he can overcome the weight will be right in this.
Don’t Back Me: Discreet had a great run at odds last start in the Group 2 Dane Ripper. With a 2kg claim she should be in the market, however from barrier 1 expect her to be in traffic and only getting clear when it’s all over.
Big Danger: Little Long Horn has a terrific record on wet tracks and enjoys the distance. Drawn wide but this shouldn’t matter on Saturday and with scratchings he should get a relatively easy time in front.
Roughie: Star Sammy was slowly away and posted wide last time out. Lightly raced and with some luck from barrier 5 he can figure in the finish.

Race Four: Breakfast Creek Hotel Stakes 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Octane Flyer will be in the back of the field jumping from barrier 11. He has a tough run last start over the mile being 3 wide the entire trip. He will be running home late and looks the one to beat.
Don’t Back Me: Architect won last time out on a slow track at ipswich coming wide on the turn. In the majority of his starts he misses the jump and in a 2yo race this is crucial.
Big Danger: Cannyzig lost all momentum last time out when travelling into the race. Racing again over the 1400m with a clear run should be in the finish.
Roughie: One Grey misssed the jump last time out and didn’t make much of an impression.
With the sting out of the ground on Saturday she may be one to get up at odds.

Race Five: Centenary Mercedes-benz Mile 1600m Form Guide

Back Me: Fire Up Fifi does well at Eagle Farm winning 6 from 12 starts here. Last time out she finished 1.5L from the winner over 1400m.
Drawn well and will handle does well on a dead track, stepping up to the mile should see her finish over the top.
Don’t Back Me: Conservatorium will have to carry a hefty 60.5kgs in this. Although winning easily last start over 1350m at ipswich the weight will be too much on Saturday.
Big Danger: Someday has been running in some strong fields and has finished withing 1L of the winners in his last 3 starts. He will be back in the field with Fire up fifi so expect both of them to be fighting it out in the last 100m.
Roughie: Soft Sand ran in the Group 2 Dane Ripper last start finishing midfield. On Saturday he is down in class and weight and could cause an upset.

Race Six: Carlton Draught Tatt’s Cup 2200m Form Guide

Back Me: Rothera was unlucky in the Brisbane cup finding trouble around the 600m mark when coming into the race. He switched back to the rails and finished 2L from the winner. He should be able to repeat that performace and with some luck will win this. Any additional rain will enhance his chances.
Don’t Back Me: Fibrillation has been on a long campaign without a win. Although she should handle the conditions it’s hard to make a case for her. Having never won at the distance and unplaced on the track from 3 attemps, others are prefered in the market.
Big Danger: Ibicenco is Peter Moody’s German import who is thrid up on Saturday. His last two runs have been encouraging over the mile in a Group 3 and Listed company. Although being the top weight, has won 3rd up before and the distance will work in his favour.
Roughie: Rialya didn’t handle the rain affected track last time out. If the track remains at a dead and they send Rialya forward he may be able to pinch the win.

Race Seven: Sky Racing Tattersall’s Tiara 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Streama looks extremely hard to beat here. She is a class horse who has contested some very good Group 1 races over the Autumn. Was first up after a short break in the Stradbroke when running third. She is much better with a run under her belt and from Barrier 1 she will take a ton of beating.
Don’t Back Me: Red Tracer was very good in the Dane Ripper Stakes although she finds a much tougher field here. Im going for the form around the Stradbroke Handicap and she is weighted on the same level as horses who ran very well in it. Thus i think at the odds she is a risk.
Big Danger: Risk Aversion flew home in the Dane Ripper Stakes which was dominated by on pace runners. Has drawn well on Saturday and is likely to go back again and be coming home strongly late. If there is good pace on she is the horse to beat.
Roughie: Yosei put in a huge run in the Stradbroke last start and despite her always running on and never winning she has looked like she can win a race this preparation and if the tempo is right Saturday could be the day.

Race Eight: W.j. Healy Stakes 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Skytrain was wide throughout last start and had a tough run. Drawn in today he should sit midfield and get a nice cart into the race. Will handle the conditions and should win this.
Don’t Back Me: Howmuchdoyouloveme won first up over 1000m last start. Don’t expect a repeat perfomance today as there are factors against him. Carrying 60kg’s over 1200m today from barrier 13 will make it hard for him to win on Saturday.
Big Danger: Griffon is coming out of the Group 2 QTC cup and if there is rain on Saturday will be a good chance. Expect him to be worse than midfield doing his best work late.
Roughie: Royal Bender travels up to Queensland for this after narrowly losing at Moonee Valley last time out. Drops 4kgs and does well over 1200m. Could suprise here.
