Three starts for three wins makes happy reading for trainer Chris Waller, as he takes The Autumn Sun to Rosehill for a crack at the Stan Fox Stakes over 1,500 metres. The boom colt is a well-backed favourite following a last-start win at the JJ Atkins Stakes at Doomben, with TAB paying $1.85 for a Fixed Odds win.

And while Waller ultimately has his sights set on The Golden Rose, he’ll know this is another good test for a rising star getting plenty of big wraps.

Piloted by the experienced Kerrin McEvoy, The Autumn Sun might be a favourite with punters and bookies alike, but he may not have things all his own way if Danawi has anything to say about it.

The exciting sprinter broke through for a maiden victory in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality at Rosehill last time out, and trainer Tim Martin has elected to run his impressive colt in the Stan Fox Stakes rather than the shorter Run To The Rose.

TAB has Danawi paying $8.50 for a win, with Martin confident his charge – ridden by Brett Prebble – can match The Autumn Sun in what is fast shaping up as a dress rehearsal for The Golden Rose.

Danawi saw Master Ash finish over the top of him in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes at Randwick on August 18, in what was only Master Ash’s fourth start.

Expected to feature prominently in The Golden Rose, Master Ash outsprinted Danawi to claim a maiden Group 3 win, prompting co-trainer Adrian Bott to set his sights on some even bigger prizes.

TAB has Master Ash listed at $8.00 to win the Stan Fox Stakes with Tommy Berry at the helm, with the colt having claimed two wins and two runner-up places in his first four starts.

BEST OF THE REST

Irukandji and Outrageous look the best of the rest, with Irukandji running a creditable fourth in the Up And Coming Stakes, while Outrageous finished sixth in the Ming Dynasty Quality.

Piloted in the Stan Fox Stakes by experienced duo Luke Currie and Tye Angland respectively, TAB has Irukandji and Outrageous listed at $13.00 and $12.00 to win in the early markets.

Chris Waller’s Dealmaker is next in line at $17.00 with Hugh Bowman aboard, while Toulouse is paying $18.00, Dio Doro and Tarka are both paying $19.00, Mizzy is paying $21.00 and Muswellbrook is at the longest odds of $26.00 in the early betting markets.
