Spring Champion Stakes winner returns positive test

Dual Group One-winning filly Yankee Rose has returned a positive result to a banned substance from her second in the Flight Stakes.

Racing NSW Stewards said a sample taken from the filly after her second to Global Glamour in the Flight Stakes at Randwick on October 1 showed the presence of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory Ketorlac.

Trainer David Vandyke will front an inquiry in Sydney on Friday.

Yankee Rose won the Group One ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes last autumn and the Spring Champion Stakes in October before her third behind Winx and Hartnell in the Cox Plate.
