Peter Snowden has been rolling out some promising young horses at the backend of the season and he is set to continue that trend in the coming weeks.
Raging Force, an impressive winner at Rosehill on July 5, I Am Invincible filly Infusion, Capitalist colt Caesar and Wednesday’s Kensington victor Grand Prairie are all lightly raced gallopers Snowden believes can continue to develop.
He will add two more to that list over the next fortnight in Tuileries, who kicks off her latest campaign in the MyPlates Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday, and Amreekiyah, who is set to return the following week.
“I’ve got a few nice fillies kicking off shortly, Tuileries and Amreeykiyah. They both showed a fair bit last time in,” Snowden said.
“I’m looking towards the carnival with them and I’m hoping to get a bit of a jump on the others.
“They will have good residual fitness on them and they’ll be third-up into those stakes races (next season).”
A daughter of So You Think, Tuileries posted back-to-back wins at Canterbury and Randwick in December, earning a shot at the Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast in January.
She drew the outside barrier in the field of 18 and finished an eye-catching seventh to Bosustow after settling well back from her wide gate.
“She won her first two starts and she is an exciting filly,” Snowden said.
“She drew wide in the Magic Millions and if it wasn’t worth $2 million I wouldn’t have gone but she ran an incredible race.”
Justify three-year-old Amreekiyah won her only two starts in provincial grade earlier this year and took out a recent barrier trial at Hawkesbury.
She has been nominated for a race at Canterbury on Wednesday while there is also an option for her at Randwick next weekend.
