Multiple Group One winners Fawkner, Boban and Happy Trails are expected to headline a star-studded field for the Group One Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington.

Acceptances for Saturday’s 1600m weight-for-age feature are taken on Wednesday with the trio among 12 Group One winners in the 22 nominations.

The race has a field limit of 16 plus four emergencies.

Fawkner, the 2013 Caulfield Cup winner and last year’s Cox Plate runner-up, missed the Memsie Stakes because of a wide barrier.

He finished a close second to Dissident in the Makybe Diva Stakes first-up last year.

The Memsie was won by the Chris Waller-trained Boban who is the early favourite for the Makybe Diva Stakes.

New Zealand and Australian Derby winner Mongolian Khan is set to start his spring campaign in Saturday’s race.

While the Makybe Diva Stakes is the main event on a nine-race program, there are another seven stakes races including the Group Two Bobbie Lewis Quality, Group Two Let’s Elope Stakes and Group Two Danehill Stakes.
