Shamus Award heads bumper 2014 Rosehill Guineas field

Victorian colt Shamus Award has drawn the inside barrier in his bid to make a winning Sydney debut in Saturday’s Group One Rosehill Guineas.

The Cox Plate winner will have 16 rivals including the Peter Moody-trained Dissident who has won his past two starts in the Hobartville Stakes and Randwick Guineas and will jump from barrier seven.

The kiwi contingent will have a strong hand.

New Zealand Derby winner Puccini has drawn barrier two while Murray Baker-trained stablemates Atlante and Show The World have come up with gates nine and 17 respectively.

Top sprinting mare Snitzerland heads acceptances for the Group One Galaxy which has also attracted her last-start conqueror Villa Verde.

Trainer John O’Shea has paid up for Kencella who will back-up in the Galaxy seven days after he reaffirmed his affinity for the 1100m Rosehill circuit with a sharp win in the Maurice McCarten Stakes.
