Ballarat will host the feature race meeting in Victoria on Sunday 10th of October. We take a look at each of the main races on the Ballarat card and give our tips and bets.

Ballarat – Race 4 1:25pm AEST – No. 4 Tramontana
Tramontana won his maiden by a big margin here at Ballarat two starts back and fought home gamely for a place in his latest assignment at Flemington over a similar distance.
The colt by Toronado stuck on well after racing on-speed, and seemingly has plenty of improvement to come with some fitness now on his side.
He’s drawn to get a lovely run in transit from barrier 2 and the fact Jamie Mott is back in the saddle is a huge plus.
Ballarat – Race 5 2:00pm AEST – No. 3 Angelic Scent
Angelic Scent had plenty of work to do second-up at Mornington but still managed to battle home for third over the same trip.
Matt Laurie’s lightly raced mare has missed the money only once from five starts and looks set to peak now in her third run back.
She’s unproven on rain-affected going but should enjoy a nice cart into the race under Daniel Stackhouse.
Ballarat – Race 6 2:40pm AEST – No. 3 Faretti
Faretti is having his third run back following only a fair effort at Flemington three weeks ago over the same journey.
He was a narrow winner first-up at Geelong and should be suited by the inside gate with Craig Williams retaining the ride.
The son of I Am Invincible won by an impressive two lengths at Sandown third-up last time in work and also has some strong form lines on soft going to his name.
Ballarat – Race 8 3:50pm AEST – No. 3 Skyman
Skyman ticks most of the boxes ahead of the Seymour Cup.
The five-year-old has run a place in two of his three starts since returning to work and finished off very strongly in his last start at Sandown after overcoming a wide run in transit.
This is a step up, but Chris Waller tends to have his horses set to peak by this stage in their prep, and with three wins over the mile and some decent soft track form to his name, the $6.50 quote is tough to ignore.
