Schofield appeals to VCAT over suspension

Chad Schofield has lodged an application to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to appeal his suspension for improper riding.

Schofield was suspended for 32 meetings by Racing Victoria stewards after being found guilty of improper riding aboard Saguaro at Mornington on September 17.

His appeal before the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board was dismissed last Friday.

Schofield’s legal representative lodged the application with VCAT on Monday, requesting an urgent hearing.

As things stand Schofield will be out until Caulfield Cup day, October 18.
