The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

Sale – Race 3 1:35pm AEDT – No. 8 Diamond Dagger
Tricky maiden race, but a winnable one for Diamond Dagger at this stage of her prep.
Greg Eurell’s mare was strong to the line two runs back at Kyneton on rain-affected ground and is worth forgiving on her latest start at Cranbourne where she found herself too far back.
She Comes into this rock-hard fit and barrier 6 should see her get back and run on.
Sale – Race 5 2:45pm AEDT – No. 3 Alverdun
Tough to feel confident in a few of these, but it does look a nice race for Alverdun on return.
This lightly raced three-year-old won his maiden during the spring at The Valley but was flat in his final run of the prep finishing third-last.
Daniel Moor said he didn’t pick up that day, but his two recent jump-outs suggest he’s in good order.
Sale – Race 6 3:20pm AEDT – No. 1 Eagle Spirit
Eagle Spirit warrants plenty of respect racing on the quick backup.
Craig Blackshaw’s old boy hasn’t been far off in a couple of starts at Pakenham and Cranbourne so far and he should appreciate getting back to 1100m now third-up.
Barrier 2 should see him land off the speed and there’s enough soft track form to suit.
Sale – Race 8 4:30pm AEDT – No. 3 High Done
High Done strips fitter for two runs back and is racing like he wants further.
The High Chapparal gelding ran fourth when resuming at Sandown two back and was just over two lengths off the winner at Sale in his latest.
This is a slightly easier contest and some sting out of the track only strengthens his chances.
