Sale horse racing Tips – 4/12/2013

A strong eight race card will be run and won at Sale on Wednesday. The weather is fine, the track is dead and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Race One: Rheem Stellar Star Maiden Plate 1105m Form Guide

Back Me: The exposed horses who have had experience are pretty ordinary, so I think White Storm will win based on how nicely she trialled on November 25, but I am expecting her to be in the red. Stable are flying at present and this daughter of Churchill Downs should kick her career off on the right note.
Big Danger: Of those to have raced, the best is Ebony Flight, who did a bit of work here last start when fourth to a real smart one in Gambaccini. She has had plenty of chances to win, but strikes a thin race.
Roughie: Abiella’s Ace had little luck on debut, being caught four and five wide with no cover on the speed. She naturally faded and ran last, but from the rails here, sharp improvement wouldn’t surprise.

Race Two: Lanark Spa Pools Maiden Plate 1205m Form Guide

Back Me: Ready Cuz looks the one here based on past form. Ran really well over the 1100m here first up last campaign, finishing second in a hot maiden race, with several horses from that race going on to win, including Mufasla. Drawn the paint here, in form stable and rider…hard to beat.
Big Danger: Arctic Reign ran a pretty good race here first up behind a handy horse in Spellrocker. She doesn’t meet an overly strong field here, and should spear across from the wide barrier, jump on the bunny, and prove a tough nut to crack.
Roughie: Zedi Gold has been freshened since running second here in late October. Gone to the trials and looked impressive, so don’t discount her from the equation.

Race Three: Aquamax Hot Water Systems Maiden Plate 1728m Form Guide

Back Me: Looks a two horse race between Faith And Fury and Kai Boy, with a slight leaning towards the former, simply because of the barrier draw and the slightly better formlines. Faith And Fury was gallant last start behind tearaway winner Galway Warrior. Step up to the 1728m should suit and Mott sticks.
Big Danger: Kai Boy looked the winner last start over the 1900m at Kilmore, but just failed to pick up the winner, so the drop back in distance looks perfect, and the stable are having a really good run at the moment.
Roughie: Tunisia Traveller has been good without being great in two runs this time in, but getting out to a trip is what she may be looking for, plus Rawiller takes the ride. Looks the knockout runner.

Race Four: Legend Tapware At Plumbtec Plate 1411m Form Guide

Back Me: Given there are a couple of horses who have performed well in town here, there should be good value for Zebrinz, who was the real eye catcher last start at Geelong behind subsequent city placegetter Gracious Prospect. He was one of the only horses to make up ground at that meeting, so based on that, I’m keen on his chances.
Big Danger: Riviera Riches hit the line strongly from well back when resuming at Kyneton a couple of weeks back. Fitter, drawn well, hard to beat.
Roughie: Aurum got a long way back first up at Pakenham and made up nice ground late in the piece, suggesting that 1400m and beyond will suit. Rawiller takes the ride, and this mare could improve without surprising.

Race Five: Elgas LPG Gas/Appliances Handicap (64) 1411m Form Guide

Back Me: If she has held her form, then Sunset In Venice should take care of this field. Was a top winner on debut at Mornington, then got a long way back here a fortnight back in a race dominated by those on the speed yet she made up a stack of ground late to finish second. An ounce of speed here, and some cover, and she should be too good for these.
Big Danger: Spellrocker jumped, ran, and kicked hard to win her maiden here two weeks ago, beating home Arctic Reign, who is a big chance earlier on in the card. Good barrier should ensure she gets a charmed run off the pace and prove very hard to beat.
Roughie: Games ran a strong race over this track/distance first up at this level when a close up third. She produced a ripper second up last preparation and I’m expecting much the same. Also look for Umatilla Girl to settle near last and wind up late as she progresses through the distance ranges.

Race Six: Steeline Roofing Handicap (64) 2219m Form Guide

Back Me: Very thin race. Putting Cadel Triomphe on top, purely because he is the only horse in this race who appears to have some decent form and a bit of upside, plus he is trained by the staying master Mick Kent.
Big Danger: Danarule was ridden upside down last start and led, but was beaten convincingly when second to Gallant Spur at Traralgon. With a more quiet ride here, he can improve and be around the money.
Roughie: The Principal was heavily backed last start at Echuca and didn’t get any luck at all in the run, getting held up behind tired horses before eventually getting clear a furlong out, and by then, the race was done and dusted. If he gets a clear crack at them here, he can figure.

Race Seven: Rinnai Infinity Flow Handicap (70) 1728m Form Guide

Back Me: Wairoa looks the one, thanks to a dominant eight length win at Pakenham where he took off around them mid race and just kept going. I think he is the horse to beat. My only concern is that he beat absolutely nothing there, a real bunch of plodders. Still, happy to be on his back.
Big Danger: Genghis is knocking on the door to win, especially after his slashing last start third at Echuca behind Just Reminiscing, who then came out and won last week at Bendigo. Looks hard to beat, but he bumps into a very promising one in the top tip. In saying that, he has been backed.
Roughie: Rocknet got a long way back here last start when seventh to Tombola. He was ridden back from the wide draw and was never really in the hunt. That scenario may occur here also, but Rawiller takes over and he knows the horse well.

Race Eight: Reln Drainage Products Handicap (64) 1105m Form Guide

Back Me: Prince Hussar had two runs during the Autumn in the provincials and placed both time behind Vital and Textiles respectively, both of which are handy horses for Darley. Trialled well on November 12 and looks ready to win first up.
Big Danger: Petrova was touted as a star after her dominant win at Cranbourne, but hasn’t quite on with it since. However, there were signs first up at Bendigo that she may have found a glimpse of her old form, so keep an eye on her.
Roughie: Not sure what happened to Emperor’s Chariot here last time out, where he finished nearly 10 lengths from the winner. Prepared to forgive and forget and give him another chance here.
